Arrangement optimization of a novel three dimensional multiphase flow imaging device employing modified harmony search algorithm

Gas–liquid two-phase flow is a typical flow. Its bubble characteristic measurement of great importance on studying the mechanism and guiding practical fluid mechanical engineering. In this paper, novel three dimensional (3D) multiphase imaging device was designed optimized to measure transparent object that has an opaque in center 3D observed area. mathematical model built constraints were defined based geometrical relationship design requirements. Based original harmony search (HS) algorithm, modified algorithm (MHS-MC) for improving both performance global optima multi-modal problems convergence constrained optimization integrated applied optimize arrangement single-camera-multi-mirror device. As case study, method reconstruction cavitation cluster inside water hydraulic valve. The statistics Pareto data show good MHS-MC algorithm. And experimental results testify effectiveness proposed can be reconstructed with quite high precision.
